Reminder: Braun & Friends’ Huts Bookings Open May 1st!

Calling all experienced winter hut trippers! We’re sending out a friendly reminder that reservations for huts in the Alfred A. Braun system, as well as the Friends’ Hut, for next winter season open Friday, May 1st at 8am MT.

As a reminder, the Braun and Friends’ Huts are located in remote, avalanche-prone terrain. Trips to these huts are considered a serious backcountry endeavor, and demand careful planning, and trained skills in travel, navigation, and decision making in the backcountry. If you and your group do not have the equipment for and substantial experience with this level of winter backcountry travel, please choose another hut within the broader 10th Mountain Huts network. How to Make Your Reservation
Beginning at 8am MT on Friday, hut users can make their reservation for any of the above huts by booking online here (recommended!), or by calling our reservation line at 970-925-5775. Membership is not required to book these huts, and booking multiple trips is permitted. To note, the Braun and Friends’ Huts are structured as full-hut bookings, so you must book the entire hut when making your reservation. The 2026-27 Winter season for these huts runs from Nov. 25th, 2026 through May 31st, 2027.
Help Support the Green Wilson Hut Rebuild!
Have you heard the news?! The Green Wilson Hut is being rebuilt this year! The Braun Huts team has launched a major community-supported campaign to rebuild the hut and sustain it for future generations. They need support from the hut community to reach their fundraising goal.
