Route Description

HUT TO HUT distances are usually longer than from trailhead to hut. Use winter specific topographic maps. Routes between huts are not often used so may not be tracked; navigation and breaking trail may be particularly challenging.

From the 10th Mountain Division Hut, ski the 10th Mountain suggested route across the flat clearing southwest of the hut, then take the fall line and enjoy a ski run through clearings down to the area just north of Lily Lake. From there, intersect the North Fork Road and follow it down to a fork at 10,400 feet. Turn left (N) off the road at the fork onto the marked 10th Mountain trail, and follow the marked trail easterly about 3/4 mile to a stream crossing and the intersection with the trail that generally follows the stram down to the Crane Park Trailhead. Climb away from the stream on the marked trail across rolling terrain about 1 3/4 miles to the Continental Divide and Point Breeze Cabins. While this is a relatively mellow route, the suggested route does take a few confusing turns and navigation is somewhat complicated by a plethora of other trails in the area, so put energy into your navigation.
