Route Description

From Hwy 24 and Mountain View Drive on the north end of Leadville, drive 2.8 miles west on Mtn. View Drive to a “T” intersection, turn right and continue on Turquoise Lake Road. This road will wind you around the lake, and past multiple campground areas. After approximately 3.1 miles, take a right turn onto County Road 9B / FS Rd 107, which is a dirt road. Follow this dirt road, staying straight past any small driveways/turnoffs, for approximately 2.1 miles. At this point the road splits and you will make a right turn into the hut driveway. Stay left at the next split to continue up the driveway, until you see the hut boundary gate and parking area for Uncle Bud’s. From the pavement to the hut parking is approximately 2.4 miles, so be sure to watch your odometer once you leave the pavement.
